World’s third largest book fair opened on Wednesday at Sharjah. It began with a glittering opening ceremony at Expo Centre, in the presence Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, other shaikhs and guests. The theme of this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair, SIBF is ‘A World inside My Book’.

Goa is hosting the inaugural India-US Ocean Dialogue beginning today. The US state department has said, the dialogue, aimed at promoting sustainable development of the Blue Economy, is being hosted by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO) in Goa.

Saudi Arabia claims to be the first country to have granted a robot citizenship. Saudi Arabia granted citizenship to a humanoid robot, it announced at an innovation conference in Riyadh this week. It claims to be the first nation to bestow citizenship upon a robot. Sophia was built by the Hong Kong-based company "Hanson Robotics" in 2015.
