CCEA approves renaming of central sector scheme SAMPADA as PM Kisan Sampada Yojana

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA has approved the renaming of the new Central Sector Scheme - SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) for the period of 2016-20 coterminous with the 14th Finance Commission cycle. Earlier, the CCEA in its meeting in May this year had approved the SAMPADA with same allocation and period. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY). Centre launches Swachh Survekshan Gramin to encourage states, districts to improve sanitation coverage

The Centre has launched Swachh Survekshan Gramin to encourage states and districts to improve sanitation coverage and solid liquid waste management. Launching this in New Delhi, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, toilet usage have increased to 91 per cent in the country whereas overall toilet coverage in rural India has reached to 66 per cent. Mr Singh said, all districts of the country will be ranked under the Swachh Survekshan Gramin on the basis of performance, sustainability and transparency. So far, 4,600 villages and 1.4 lakh households have been covered under Swachh Sarvekshan (Gramin) Survey. Mr Tomar informed that 160 districts have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) and more than 2.2 lakh lakh villages are ODF so far. AGRI UDAAN- new scheme to boost agri startups

ICAR-NAARM Technology Business Incubator (TBI), a-IDEA and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s (IIM-A) incubator Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) announces “AGRI UDAAN”- Food and Agribusiness Accelerator 2.0. This programme will help to selected innovative startups who will be mentored in to scale up their operations in agri value chain for effective improvement in agriculture. Accelerators are 4-8 month program aiming at scaling up innovative startups with a working prototype and initial market traction. This is done through education, mentorship, and financing. Startups enter accelerators for a fixed-period of time, and as part of a cohort. The cohort is shortlisted by evaluation panel comprising of industry veterans, business experts, R&D scientists. FM launches Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana for senior citizens

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday launched a new pension scheme for the senior citizens, Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana, PMVVY in New Delhi. The scheme can be purchased offline as well as online through LIC. The scheme ensures annual return of 8.3 per cent per annum payable monthly for 10 years. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, banks have to lend at affordable rates while Senior citizens want secure and reasonable on their investment. Benefits : Pension Payment : On survival of the Pensioner during the policy term of 10 years, pension in arrears (at the end of each period as per mode chosen) shall be payable. Death Benefit: On death of the Pensioner during the policy term of 10 years, the Purchase Price shall be refunded to beneficiary. Maturity Benefit: On survival of the pensioner to the end of the policy term of 10 years, Purchase price along with final pension installment shall be payable.
