Lord Canning became the Viceroy as per the proclamation of the Queen Victoria after the Sepoy Mutiny.
- Behadur Shah was sent to Rangoon (Burma) in 1858
- Three Universities were formed - Culcutta, Bombay and Madras
- Doctrine of Lapse started by LordDelhousie in 1848 was
- withdrawn in 1859 by Lord Canning
- Introduced Tax
