Arvind Panagariya has resigned as the Vice-Chairman of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog and will return to Columbia University in New York to don his academic robes again.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted his resignation and August 31 will be Panagariya’s last working day at Niti Aayog, official sources confirmed.
It was not immediately known who will replace Panagariya as the new Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, which has emerged as the government’s go-to policy think-tank since it was set up in 2015.
