The Rajya Sabha is scheduled to take up the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2017. Lok Sabha has already passed the bill, which seeks to amend the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to insert provisions for handling cases related to stressed assets of banks. Stressed assets are loans where the borrower has defaulted in repayment or where the loan has been restructured.
In Lok Sabha, the State Banks (Repeal and Amendment) Bill, 2017, Central Road Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property (Amendment) Bill, 2017 will come up for consideration and passage.
