Former Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will be sworn in as the 13th Vice President of India today. He will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by President Ram Nath Kovind at a special function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
After the ceremony, Mr. Naidu will take charge as the Chairman of Rajya Sabha at Parliament House and will preside over the proceedings in the Upper House. Mr. Naidu was elected as the Vice President on 5th of this month defeating opposition candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi.
Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu was born on 1st July 1949 at Chavatapalem, in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. He acquired his bachelor's degree in law with specialisation in international law from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
