The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 85th anniversary today.
The main function was held at the Hindon air base near Delhi with parade and air display.
Speaking at the ceremony, Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa said, the Air Force is prepared to fight at short notice, if the need arises.
He said security of all Air Force stations have been enhanced to combat any threat, including sub-conventional threats, after the terrorist attack on the IAF base station in Pathankot last year.
The Air Chief said the Force is committed to Make in India and indigenisation efforts in defence sector. He also paid tribute to the Marshal of the force Arjan Singh who passed away recently.
